MAGIC DAY IN MONTROSE ...for most !

COLD BUT A BEAUTIFUL DAYS GOLF

Yesterday saw us complete our 4th round of this years Tour.

Driving up from Dunblane past Gleneagles we were down to one lane and the snow was getting worse. A quick phone call to the course to check out how things were up there - dry , cold and sunny.
Thats exactly how we got it all day and as you will see from the pictures the course was in fantastic condition and is without doubt one of the best we have played on the Tour.
The drive took 1 hour 45 mins and it was great to meet up with our oldest member Malky Hannah who was our guest of honour for the day and presented the prizes later in the day.

We will start with the results from yesterday.

SPOON WINNER

SCOTT KENNEDY

THE TOP 3

Yesterdays winner was Gordon who in all the years we have been going away has never won a Hackers Winter Tour event. Gordon has now in the last 2 events put some serious points on to his total with 76 point shooting him up the leader board.

Runner up was last years champion Neil who had 38 points playing the last and he was stroking on that hole also. Unfortunately for Neil he fucked it up big time and blobbed the hole allowing his partner Sinky to overtake him and win overall.

Finishing in third place was Mr Consistent Stevie Paul with 37 points beating Andrew Alexander on countback with 20 points on the back 9. Andrew had reached the turn with 22 points but let it slip on the way into the finish.

One of the shocks of the day was Billy Gibson finishing with only 27 points and just missing the Spoon. Billy has been one of the best players this season and was sitting top of the leader board before yesterday.

Great finish by George Leadbitter who only had 12 points playing the 13th hole before hitting some great scores to pull himself out of the mire by 1 point.

Great to see that never give up attitude also by Ian McLaren who battled bravely on a par 3 to keep his score going by putting out for a 10 !!  It"s NIL POINTS for a 5 or 6 never mind 10 fecking blows.

Nearest the pins were won by Graham and Craig. Graham has been very consistent this season and Craig got his biggest points total this year also.

At 80 years of age The Auld Yin got 33 points and even tho he was exempt from the Spoon he was miles away from the SPOON WINNER - SCOTT KENNEDY WHO WON YESTERDAY WITH 26 POINTS.

More of Skitty to follow soon.

LAST LAUGH OF THE DAY

Stevie Paul pissing himself with laughter at his buddy amassing just 26 points and going back down the A90 with the Spoon. I think that made yesterday a special day for him and I am sure he will remind Scott that he is now at the SPOON table for the Christmas lunch.
