THE HOOCHTER BOYS

Here we have a classic.

The video is The Alexander Brothers sorry I meant Vera and Big Davy G saying a few words for Gary Davner who got married 2 weeks ago in Singapore.

The video was shot by Sinky at the Golden Pheasant in December but we didn't want to post it till the wedding was over and Gary and all his guests got this surprise message from the Hoochter Boys.

Were did the Highland twang appear from with Vera ?

It's a Tour of Fife our golf this year not a Tour of the Highlands.

How were the wedding guests in Singapore going to understand all that  Auch Aye the Noo stuff ?

What about all that pish about going over to visit him in Singapore . Jack and Victor above got lost that morning going to Dundonald Links for the golf how the fuck do they expect to find their way over to Singapore ?

I said to Sinky it's a pity you didn't keep the video going as I think Big Vera was ready to start a wee Highland Jig after his Gaelic message.

Might even have been a Gay Gordon's or a wee Dashing White Sergeant to entertain the wedding
party.

One things for sure they won't be up for a Oscar this year.

Apparently Gary was in tears with laughter when they played it at the wedding. !!!

So was everyone else after Gary translated the message.

Well done The Hoochter Boys.

THE KITTOCKS ST ANDREWS

January 10th
Kittocks
St Andrews

After our round at Scotscraig being cancelled last weekend we now move on to the next venue which is The Kittocks course at The Fairmont Hotel St Andrews.

We used to play here regularly when we first started The Tour but over the last 4/5 years we have not played either of the 2 courses at the hotel.

This is a fairly tough track especially if the wind blows and it normally does most of the time. The course holds the record for the least points scored to win a round. Paul James had 26 points and he was the best back in 2008 when we played in very windy conditions.

This could be a round where very few people will be counting it as one of their 5 rounds but you never know maybe a few will burn it up.

It's always in good condition and with huge sloping greens that tend to be very quick even at this time
of year scoring can be tough.

There is no food booked for this round but bacon rolls and coffee are available before for £7.00 each and a full menu is also available for those who want to order something when they finish. It is not cheap the food so I decided not to book anything and let each choose what they want to do. Might be fish suppers for most of us after the presentation of prizes on the way home.

I will be taking names and deposits for the next round at Crail on Sunday.

Nike Golf: No Cup Is Safe

The new advert with Rory and Tiger just out today.

Nike have called it No cup is safe.

They seem to have forgot that no hole is safe when Tiggers about !!!

Top 10 Golfing Tantrums

Last year I played a Tuesday medal with Vera James and on the 16th green he had 7 putts FROM 2 FEET. The final putt was 3 foot away when he hit it. People often ask how can you 7 putt ?

Watch the professional in 7th place - unbelievable !

Even the best players in the world go mental at this crazy game.

Enjoy.

Golfing in the Snow - How it's done

This babe has got a swing unlike most of us.

DESPERADOS

WE BOTH
HAD
40 POINTS

Simon and Craig braved the conditions this morning at Carnwarth and played some real winters golf. I used to think Smarty was the leading Desperado but I think he has lost his crown today.

Also rumours are circulating that Davie Revie and George Leadbitter were seen sweeping snow off the tees and greens at Cawder this morning in order to get 18 holes in - this is not confirmed yet.

Breaking news !

Paul James has just confirmed that he is just back from Cawder and was amazed to see all the tees and greens swept clear of snow so looks like General George and Davie have indeed been busy.

Maybe they did't play maybe they just cleaned the snow off the course ?

I have had  Smarty greetin all morning that he's just found a good swing and doesn't want to lose it.

"Fucking frost and snow for 2 weeks I'll forget how to hold a club never mind remember my swing"

It would have been his 3rd round in 5 days had he played today.

First call last night when we cancelled - Smarty !!!

"Your having a fucking laugh aren't you" ?

"That means I've got that bloody Spoon looking at me for another 2 weeks"

I guess he must have been confident of not winning it today at Scotscraig.

Yes there really are some desperate Hackers out there looking for a game of golf.

Any others wanting to own up to a sneaky desperate game ???

DIRTY DANCERS

SINKY HAS THE
TIME OF
HIS LIFE
AT

Sinky went to the Dirty Dancing show the other night along with 3000 screaming women all dancing along in the hall.

Alex Smarts wife and daughter were also there but at the other side of the hall. When I told Alex the bold boy was there strutting his stuff he couldn't believe it so he sent Sheena a text to have look for "Patrick" Sinclair doing the Samba .

They said that it was easy to spot him as he was the only man up dancing about in the crowd.

GOLF CANCELLED

SCOTSCRAIG  CANCELLED

TOMORROW

The Met Office have issued warnings for tomorrow and while it might be okay in the morning we have to travel back and they are now saying snow for mid day in Dundee. I will re schedule for February and hopefully get 2 rounds in that month.
Sorry for the late notice but things are changing hourly and we don't see the point in taking unnecessary risks for a game of golf.

Snowfalls will develop across western Scotland during Saturday night and Sunday morning. Inland, away from the western coastal fringes, the snow is liable to settle. Falls of 2-5 cm of snow are likely on ground above 200 m with local accumulations of 10 cm.

The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to travel.
