Big Wean's

Clearly I wasnt missed when the family went away to Florida in the summer.

Dad certainly seems to be having fun pushing Alex around in the boat.

Just look at Alex's face in pure joy!

Think they were trying to set a new water speed record after Alex beating the land speed record!

DISCO DANCING

DANCING JIM

Cancel the predictions in the previous post.

I went up to the golf club to pick up my daughter who was at the family disco.

Who was leading the congo with all the kids but JC the NR/58 man of the moment.

I can see many scoops tonight for Oor Jim and the phrase "burst ball " comes to mind.

Cancel my tip for the top.

Look out wall here comes JC.

Apologies also to Jim for saying he was a 2 time winner of the spoon. He has only won it once my mistake. We will see if that is still the same after Auchterader.

See you all in the morning.

JIM LOOKING GOOD FOR TOMORROW

JIM SHOOTS A 58 !!!!!

After his early bath in last Sunday's medal Jim Cullen went out all guns blazing yesterday and during a match against Kenny Lang and Scott Kennedy he shot a fantastic 58.

Obviously Scott and Kenny were well and truly pumped by Jim and his partner Stevie Paul.

This looks good for tomorrows outing and now shows us that last week was just a wee blip !!

Favourite for tomorrow must now be Jim - can he repeat Fridays form in medal play as tomorrow there is no gimmes and all scores count.

Draw tomorrow 10.40.

Food before and after.

First Tee Time 11.04.

Weather to be good.

LUNCH TIME FUNNY

FRANKIE AND JERRY OR IS IT BEN AND BENNY'S ????

Who knows asked Big DG the jiner

At work today myself and Sinky's youngest Ross were reading the papers and I noticed a large advert for Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

"Their ice cream is great" I said to Ross. "Aye it's the dogs bollocks" replied Big Lurch.

Sitting opposite us is fellow Hacker Big Davy G tanning a full box of Hob Nobs as he does for his lunch and with out even looking up at us announces

"Their opening a place in Bishopbriggs at the retail park "!!!!!!!!

I was about to reply that I didn't know that when I realised what the big tube had said and me and Ross just looked at each other as he continued scoffing away with out batting a eye lid.

There is a new Frankie and Benny's restaurant currently being built at Low Moss. It's certainly not a ice cream factory that's for sure.

"Were talking about Ben and Jerrys - the ice cream company not fucking Frankie and Bennys the restaurant chain" I told him.

"I some times get them mixed up" he replied as he reached for a Chunky Kit Kat and continued happily piling food into his mouth quite oblivious to us looking at him in bewilderment.

His one liners brighten up the day no end.

HERE'S VERA HE'S BACK

Tuesday Medal

Lenzie Golf Club the 3rd hole

Yes Gents the man who frequents the site more than any other is back and the reason this time.

He can't hit a drive past the ladies tee markers.

The white tees are about 5 yards behind the reds - check out where his drive ends up. As he hit the ball it it went vertical for about 20 yards and only missed his thick scull by inches as it plummeted back to earth with snow on it. It some how bounced forward 10 yards and rested next to the red tees.

He then proceeded to do the same with his next shot and he was now about 100 yards from the original starting point.

By some miracle he managed to get a 6 at the hole.

I would also like to point out that he hit his driver terrible for most of the next 10-12 holes and then started to hit a 5 iron off the tee. I asked him what he was playing at. His reply was practicing for the 1st hole on Sunday !!!

He is hitting a 5 iron off the tee on Sunday to ensure he makes it over the wall and down the first without making a complete tit of himself.

Just wait till he hits the wall with his 5 iron ..................

J C SETS ANOTHER HACKERS RECORD

Sunday medal results

C Chalmers 64
I Fox 66
A Alexander 68
J Hamilton 69
R Chalmers 69
J Sommerville 70
B Newall 70
J Cummings 70
I Hutchinson 72
D Stirling 73
D Mitchell 74
G Sinclair 74
J Cullen NR

As you can see from the above results we had 1 NR on Sunday. Two time winner of the Spoon Jim Cullen was guilty of carding letters at the bottom of the card. The manner in how and when the NR appeared is what sets this apart from all others.

Jimbo did not record one number on his card - none anywhere ,nil ,zero.

The reason for this was he decided to NR before he had reached the green on the 1st hole !!

A good drive up the first then ended up in the trees on the right - numerous swipes later at various balls as the original ball was replaced by a few other top flites as they scudded about the trees and the under growth.

Being always the conscientious golfer he was aware of the following group waiting to play the second shots and his own partner waiting on the second tee for him. Jim waved cheerio to the first green and went looking for his playing partners on the second.

NO RETURN ON THE FIRST- A HACKERS RECORD

How do I know all this bullshit ?

I have Hackers often phoning me at work on Monday's trying to explain how they performed so poorly on a certain hole or round before I post it on the site !!

Jim phoned me at work on Monday to ask if it was possible to have a quick word with me.

Had I heard of his problems up the first ?

"Just wee whispers" I replied

"Aye whispers from that bastard Hammy I bet"

"Well it's all a lot of shite and he is taking the piss out me"

"We can't have that Jim you sound a bit upset" I replied to the above comments

"Can I tell you what really happened as I would like to get my side of the story over and not have that big bastards Hammy's version appearing on the web site."?

Jim having heard both versions I have decided Hammy's is more entertaining so nae luck.

The above is Hammy's story - Jim's was a lot of excuses and we Hackers don't like excuses . If you hit 10-13 shots up a wee par 4 the reason is that you were rotten and we can all be rotten at some time.

I had a text from Stevie Paul over in Portugal playing golf with John Carslaw. The text was to tell me John had a NR and make sure I got his pound !!!

How many have shot a round that has more birdies than pars ! Yes on Sunday Craig had 6 birdies 5 pars and 7 bogeys to finish 1 over. He threw away a great chance to shoot really low with numerous poor chips and some missed putts.

I was playing with The Tango man Sinky all decked out in orange from top to toe. Ricky Fowler he certainly was not - more like Ricky Fulton as his golf was rank rotten.

Brian Newall decided to play Zorro with his putter on the 5th and messed up his round swiping back and forth with ease.

On the last I myself only had to bogey the hole at worst to hit buffer. A good strike to the green and things look good but in true Hacker tradition lets just fucking 4 putt from 15 feet and miss the buffer as all good Hackers are capable of doing - what a dick !!

So looking at the scores from the last few weeks I don't see anyone on great form and I think this weekends outing will be wide open for the individual prizes.

The team contest will be interesting and I think it will be very tight between all. This is the first we have ever done this and it makes a change from the four balls.

I better let you all know that there will be a prize for the donkey team also. That could be interesting as one of the team could play a blinder and win overall only to have 2 fuds in his team and also get a diddy award also.

Johnny is picking up the shirts tomorrow and will be available next Sunday at the course. Cost is £20.00 for the shirt.

Weather looking good for Sunday.

Post from Tuesday's medal to follow.

Hackers shortest ever drive caught on camera - not to be missed.

Who is it ??

One clue

He had a NR !!

Finally

How many have hit the wee dyke on the first in their sleep ??

How many have hit the big tree ??

How many have hit the club house ??

How many have buried their ball in the heather ??

How many are reloading to do one of the above with their second ball ??

Yes Gents it is a interesting tee shot that will get tighter the more you think about it.

Good night sleep well.

SINKY'S DAY

Below is a copy of the letter Gordon sent to the Kirkintilloch Herald thanking everyone for such a successful day last weekend.

Hi
I dont know if you are interested in a huge golf event that took place on Sunday at Lenzie Golf club with 200 golfers taking part ! It was the fourth annual Graeme Sinclair Memorial tournament and fifty teams of four competed for some great prizes including a car if anybody managed a hole in one at the sixth, but unfortunately the closest was ken jack who managed to get it to about two and a half feet !
The event is organised by Graemes family and has grown every year and is now possibly one of the biggest events around.
Everyone had a fantastic day and it is a great fun day which is what Graeme would have wanted.
It is a great tribute that as many people turned out in his memory !
The weather was reasonably kind to us considering the forecast.
The winners of the event were Ross Pollard, Dave pollard, Ronnie Barton and Ian Muir with a fantastic score of 50 , which is sixteen under par
Second was Martin Gallagher, Paddy Carr, Harry Scott and Stevie Differ with a score of 51
Third was Alex Smart, David Graham, Derek Mitchell and Andrew Alexander with a score of 51.1
The family would like to thank everyone for making it a great success.
If you need any further details please contact me.
regards
Gordon Sinclair

THE DRAIN CLEANER GOES GLOBAL

HUTCHY BECOMES A INTERNET SENSATION AFTER GOING TO THE DOCTOR.

Gents below is a email from Davy Aitken who now resides over in Holland. The drain cleaner is a internet sensation over in Holland due to his adventures and bull shit that is posted on the web site.

You couldn't make this one up.

The Hutch is big news in the golfing circles right across Europe.

Picture above shows Ian relaxing and enjoying his new fame within the Worldwide Hacking Fraternity.

BELOW IS A COPY OF DAVY'S EMAIL

Robert,
i must email you to congratulate you on the hilarious blog. It has become essential reading for most of my golfing circle over here in Holland. Hutchie is becoming a legend, especially the Putting Doctor story that is doing the rounds of 19th holes across Holland. (you should send it to Today's Golfer,Bunkered etc) and it's good to see that the standards of golf and behaviour have not improved from my days when we had the "Lenzie 6" and the Hutchie "cardboard cut-out" or Foghorn McCartney stripping at the race night (John Somerville can tell you about that). Keep up the good work.........We're trying to arrange a tour to Scotland next year so a challenge may be in the offing. (The "elite" tour is too good for most of our bunch of hackers and bevvy merchants.)

Best regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Sincères salutations

SUMMER TOUR OUTING

SUNDAY JULY 31st

This is the opening hole at this years summer outing.

There is a special prize for any diddy or diddy's who hit the wall or fails to clear it.

It is a daunting tee shot.

If you hit the big tree on the right you will not clear the wall.

If you hit a Texas bird fucker along the deck you will hit the wall.

If you hook the ball badly you will hit the trees on the left. Yes you will be over the wall but you will have to start again as your first ball will be buried in knee deep heather. So any of the above might still happen with your second ball.

If you hit a big slice off the tee over the tree you will be fucked because on the other side of the tree is the club house and you will be OB. Time to reload and try and avoid any of the above.

So anyone that thought this was a easy short hole to start with and all that was required was a smash with the big dog over the wee dyke is wrong.

How many hackers out of 33 players will fail ??

I forgot to say that if you don't hit the wall or the tree or the clubhouse or the deep heather you better hope you are on the fairway as the deep heather I mentioned runs the full left hand side and the OB runs the length of the hole also up the right.

Apart from everything above it is a reasonably easy start to the round and should be pars for everyone.

Aye Right.

RESULTS FROM MILNGAVIE

MILNGAVIE GENTS OPEN 2011

Today we were very lucky with the weather and it turned out a excellent afternoon for golf with us getting it dry and sunny the whole round. The course was in very good condition and had stood up well to the mornings monsoons.

The winner today was Davy Graham with a 1 above par 69. I am told that could have been much better but things like 4 putting from 8 feet and 2 putting from 2 inches - yes that's right from 2 inches he had a 2 putt.

In second place Ian Hutchinson beat Paul James on count back with both of them shooting 70.

There was 2 diddy's today racking up huge scores on 1 hole and the first being Alex Smart with a 10 at a par 4 and myself with a 9 also at a par 4. That hole was the low point for me as well as losing a ball at a par 3 but for Alex I think the whole round was a tough one with only 1 par and 1 birdie all day and he took 97 shots to get round.

We had 1 NR and that was Graham Dickie who threw the towel in on the 18th.

Another Hacker who battled away was big Stevie Mac who lost a wheel on his trolley at the 13th and had to carry his cart bag the last 6 holes- well done big guy as it wasn't easy out there with the heat and sun. The trolley is still lying out at the 13th abandoned for anyone interested in salvaging it.

Todays winner David Graham

2 Wee Gremlins having a cuddle.

Today we were also told that Hutch's doctor is a lady - yes the same doctor who has a putter behind her desk for him to use so she could check the balance between his ears. You couldn't make that up or could you ??

Alex shows off with a close shot at a par 3 one of just 2 good shots hit today !! Yes he did get his 2. I also got a 2 but forgot to go and collect my winnings before I left. Alex never entered for the 2's which sums up his day.

RATHO PARK

I was at Ratho Park Golf Club today with Craig at a Junior Competition and it was in immaculate condition and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a game. The fairways were like carpets and Craig said the greens were very good to putt on. The whole presentation and tidyness of the course was first class.

Not the longest of courses but with trees lining ever fairway you need to be very straight.

They are doing a twilight rate of just £60 a 4ball after 4pm. Well worth a journey through to one evening. It took me 45 mins at rush hour going the Grangemouth route. It is only 5 mins from the Newhouse roundabout.

Craig finished 1 over after having been 2 under with just a few holes to play.

On Sunday the 4th of September there is a Gents Open at Ratho. Handicaps are to be between 6-18 and entry fee is £13.00. I am planning to go over for the Competition and I have some entry forms with me.

Anyone wanting to go can they let me know asap.

NAE WYNN NAE CHANCE

BISHOPBRIGGS

It has been brought to my attention that while on holiday John Wynn and Liam Reid were humped 8-6 in the last Thomson McCrone match of the season.

That is one serious pumping and not one the boys will want to remember.

He probably thought with me away he had got away with it but there are certain Hackers who like to keep me informed of such events. They actually are big shit stirrers and take great delight in seeing someone else getting it on the site.

Nevertheless I know John and he has big enough shoulders to take everything that gets flung at him.

Unlike certain other individuals who are sitting complaining about getting picked on , blaming everyone else for their shite golf, telling tales about other peoples golfing fuck ups and threatening to go and see lawyers and close the site down.

I am not going to name my snitch today but I am sure we all can have a guess !!

STEVIE "STALL THE TIE OR MA CARD" PAUL

Another wee snippet for the site concerns our 1 card -2 club member Stevie Paul.

He phones up fellow Hackers Tommy and Mick to arrange a 4 ball tie against him and his partner David Wylie.

He arranges the tie and the time only at the last minute to see on the draw sheet the donkeys haven't played the previous round yet and were a round ahead of themselves.

Quick phone call to Tommy "Stall the tie we will need to play you next week once we play this other one first"

Well Stevie are you playing next week or are you out ??

Any more mental slip ups and we will be running out of space for your name.

NR'S

David Stirling has been honest and contacted me to tell me he had a NR in July and will be happy to pay his £1.00

Is there anyone else I have missed and will they own up ??

TEE TIMES FOR DOWNFIELD

DOWNFIELD GENTS OPEN

6TH AUGUST 2011

I received these tee time today and have phoned to let them know they are not what we asked for but unfortunately the times are allocated on a first come basis and we were 142-158 in the application list.
I applied away back in April but they start getting entry's in February which is like Ladybank who start taking entry's before Christmas.
I explained that the late time might not suit everyone and she is willing to give a refund if the times don't suit as it was not fully explained to me when entering.
As you can see Hammy is out well behind us but he was a month or more behind us in entering but she has a note to fit him in with us if anyone cancels (might be doubtful).

I am still going up as it really is a great course and one of Scotland's finest inland courses and a Open Qualifier also.

If anyone is not happy to be going off later in the day then I need to let them know asap !!

A leisurely drive up then golf and dinner afterwards in the club isn't to much of a hardship.

RETURN OF VERA

HE'S BACK

Vera equals the Hackers par 3 record.

10 Almighty Blows to become a record holder.

Here I am sitting on the beach my final night watching the sun go down and ping ping goes the mobile and in comes a text message.

The sender shall remain anonymous at this stage.

Here is some of his quotes.

"Get How Did I Do up on your computer and check out Big Vera James score in the medal today and more importantly look at out his score on the 17th".

"It was classic and included a fresh air shot".

"Thinks he is a good golfer and has a 10 at a par 3 and it's probably the easiest on the course".

"I am insisting this has to go on the web site for all to see and if he wants to sue he can sue me the baw bag".

Paul I always try and keep Hackers happy and if they make a request and I try my utmost to accommodate them.

I know you feel that you are picked upon and are on the web site more than anyone else but you keep us entertained and fuck up more than any other Hacker.

That is the reason you are No1 for web site appearances.

You need to keep you mouth shut, your head below the parapet out of firing range and we would forget you existed - fucking no chance of that happening !!!

Anyway leaving tomorrow morning see you all soon.

BY THE WAY BIG GUY IT WAS WEE GIBBY THAT SENT THE TEXT !!!!!!

MCFLURRY SPEEDS IN THE USA AND MORE

SPEEDY McFLURRY

Alex left the beach and returned to Orlando the other day and was unfortunate to get stopped for speeding.

The fine was $279 which is similar to what I got done with a few years ago.

He paid it yesterday and was pig sick at having to outlay such an amount while over here on holiday.

So beware if you are driving in the States as it is very easy to go over their speed restrictions. I don't know all Alex's details but I was doing 42 in a 30 mph zone when I got done 3 years ago. I was only about $60/70 for speeding and the rest was for not having my driving licence with me. So maybe Alex was fined for the same.

SAND KEY

OUR BARBIE AREA ON THE BEACH

Cheers HACKERS.

COVE CAY GOLF CLUB FLORIDA

I took Alex to a course he played 2 years ago as he wanted to have another bash around it. We started early at 7.40 and with no one in front we had a clear run at the course.

Alex started with a blob before settling down and as we reached the 7th he was only 5 over par before he hit trouble - big style. The 8/9th are par a 4 and 5 and oor Eck ran up 16 shots at these 2 wholes and 2 more blobs.

Points at the turn were 14 for Alex and 21 for me as I was only 2 over par.
Unfortunately we had to go into the club house for a hour as thunder and lightning came in.

Soon we were back out and in the back 9 Alex played some very steady golf and had 18 points giving him a total of 32. I came off the rails slightly compared to my front 9 by dropping 6 shots in the back 9 for a total of 37 points 8 over.

So all you Hackers wanting to see how disastrous a round Alex had can be disappointed as he played pretty steady apart from a few holes - 32 points with 3 blobs and 3 lost balls.

The other day I took Alex and his family jet skiing on the Gulf and had a fantastic time. When we finished we went to a small restaurant on the dock for lunch.

As we were sitting there 2 American ladies came and sat down next to us and uttered the usual "Gee I love your accent are you Irish ?" We got talking and one of the ladies said "Is this place just not paradise "

To which the bold boy Eck replies " It would be hen if it had Irn Bru and a Delhi Dabar"!!!

The ladies just stared at him and nodded in agreement. The didn't have a clue- classic .

That was the second time in 12 hours me and Alex had the ''I love your accent"patter as we were down at the barbie the night before and 2 ladies approached us and introduced themselves. "We have friends in Paisley" said Betsy. Off went Alex telling them that our club manager is from Paisley but he is a down and out possibly homeless most of the time and then turned to me and said "I think we are in there "

The 17th green and I nearly ended up in the sea with my 3rd before getting up and down for a par at this long par 5. Alex lost one of his 3 balls lost balls at this hole.

The 13th 531 yards par 5 with a dog leg over water. 2 pars for the Hackers.

Alex on 17 just before he carved a ball into the nearby lake.

13TH second shot and laying up rather than going for the green over the water. The sea is right behind the green and with water at the front and back there is no room for error.

A practice swing which didn't resemble the actual swing.

A nice par for Alex at the 13th.

Holiday is over tomorrow for Alex and I follow him home on Sunday leaving Alison and Laura here for 3 more weeks.

REMINDER

Polo shirts are being ordered next week and any changes to names ,sizes etc must be confirmed before the order is placed.

Will post final details just prior to ordering.

Colour of shirts will be red and white.

BILBO BAGS A SCORE

WEEKEND SCORES

BOGEY COMPETITION

Bilbo and Hee Haw beat the course by 5.

Billy Gibson and Kenny Lang were the best scores of the weekend with 5 better followed by John Wynn with 3. Ian Fox was the only other in the plus scores with 1.

Good to see Billy and Kenny shooting some decent scores as Billy doesn't often finish a round and Kenny had a slow start to the season with the donkey on his back.

Other scores were

George Leadbitter -1
Andrew Alexander -1
Peter Ritchie -1
Graham Dickie -1
Jamie Carroll -3
Derek Mitchell -4
Ian Hutchison -4

There were no NR'S this weekend.

Thomson McCrone Update

A heavy loss last week (4.5-0.5) at Bishopbriggs finished our chance of winning the section or even getting one of the best runner up positions. A disappointing finish to the competition after winning our section the last 2 years and getting to the final last year.

There has been some cheeky emails and text messages from numerous hackers wanting to know how Smarty "McFlurry " got on playing golf with Craig's blades and hitting over water 15 times. How many points ? How many lost ball ? Did he finish ? Did the gators get him ?

I will post details and pictures later but some of you will be disappointed to hear that the shot of the day was a 4 iron from a wood chip lie -195 yards to 8 foot by Alex. There was also a few blobs and 16 shots on the 8th/9th combined !!

Just a usual day out for 2 Hackers in the USA.
