ANOTHER BELTER AND RECORDS SMASHED

DRUMOIG

2012

HACKERS TOUR

ROUND

8

Yesterday was another great days golf and the standard of scoring was possibly the best ever at a Hackers event.

Look at these stats.

2 men broke the Hackers Winter Stableford Record with 42 points.

4 other men equaled the old record of 41 points.

15 players got 36 points or more !!

30 players got 31 points or more.

Only 2 players were in the 20's.

All very impressive on a course that is one of the longest we play all winter. Yes the conditions were perfect and very little wind to speak of but you still had to get the ball in the hole.

The winner yesterday was Stevie Paul making a move to consolidate his place in the Top 4 ball match on Finals day. Stevie had 42 points and broke the old record of 41 points which was held by Craig , Gerry and Neil. This was very impressive shooting and he was pushed all the way by a 2 time winner of the Spoon this season David Stirling. David also had 42 points but with Stevie having 23 on the back 9 the first place award went to him. Stevie is now a 2 time winner on the Tour.

This was a real boost to David's overall 5 rounds total by dropping his 13 pointer he gained 29 points and instantly wiped the smile of everyone who thought they were safe from the Donkey award this year. Also David still has a 14 pointer to drop !

In 3rd place was Ian Baird with 41 points and equalling the hold record. This was Ian best round of the season so far. There was another 3 players on 41 - Paul James , Mick Drummond and Brian Murphy. On 40 points was another consistent player this season - Ian Fox.  To have 40 points and not finish in the top 6 shows just how good the scoring has been this year.

Nearest the pins were Ian Fox at the 2nd and Tommy Nicholson at the 11th.

SPOON BOY - GRAHAM DICKIE 26 POINTS.
