REMOVAL OF A DECEMBER POST

To all Hackers

As most of you are aware Gordon and myself received a letter from Jim Stirling's lawyer with regards to the lollipop man picture that Gordon presented to him at the December dinner. I then posted the picture on the website a few days later with an accompanying article.

Today Jim contacted me and demanded the removal of this picture from the web site and is very annoyed with both of us for posting it on the web site without his permission or approval.

Both Gordon and myself are upset that we have caused any person to feel hurt or embarrassed by anything that is put on the Hackers site.

It has always been our intention for the outings to be about a group of guys going away, having a laugh and playing golf. This we have done for the last 5/6 years and the group has grown from 8 players to now over 40. The web site has been developed along those lines also and until today everyone has taken any article, nickname and picture in the spirit that it was intended.

We post various articles and pictures of all Hackers when the occasion arises though many try to stay below the radar to avoid being shown on the website. As you all know, we have posted lots of articles and pictures for everyone to enjoy and have a laugh at and we hoped that this one would be taken the same way. Unfortunately, it has not been.

We have decided to remove the picture and article tonight as requested by Jim.

Regards

Robert and Gordon
