On Sunday we had a cracking day for golf but unfortunately it was winter greens due to a heavy overnight frost. This was disappointing as the course was frost free by 11 and apart from 1 green all looked playable.

We halved all the handicaps because of the short course and big cups but this still didn't stop some people getting very high points totals.

Winner on the day was Paul James with a record score for winter greens with 47 points and runner up was Gordon Sinclair who must have thought walking off the course he had won it out the park with 45 points. They were closely followed by Ian Fox with 43 points.

This was Paul's second win on the Tour and for those who don't know he was the first ever overall winner of Tour in 2008 when he beat Craig by 1 point at the Grand Final that year at Rosemount. Could he be the first to win the overall Tour twice ?

Nearest the pins were Kevin Mckinney and Jim Wylie.

David Stirling managed to defend the wooden spoon title but this was mainly down to having a bad  back before starting and showed good sportsmanship as he accepted his prize.

We had considered making David's score a non counter but it was decided not to set a precedent as we could have everyone hobbling off with calls of "I'm injured" when they have played poorly.

So well done to David for becoming the first Hacker to successfully defend the Spoon in consecutive rounds.

Biggest humping of the day was a 7-5 defeat for Davy Graham and Jamie Carroll by Jim Wylie and Johnny Sommerville.

In the best 3 rounds total Sinky has 121 points (an average of 40.3 points per round!!!!)  6 points ahead of Vera with Foxy 3 points behind him. We have 15 players on 100+ points.

At the rear we have Richard Aitken with 79 points and Yorkie, The Welshman and Rocky making up the current Donkey 4 ball.

Still 5 rounds to go so lots of points out there for everyone yet.

Next round Elie on the 29th of January.

Photo's to follow and best 5 round in so far.
