SPOONY PUMPS US ALL

McFLURRY SCOOPS THE
SWEEP

Yesterday 17 players met up at Cawder Golf Club for a game around the big course. This was the first large get together since we all joined there last month. The course was very good underfoot and had full greens on. It was also very mild for this time of year.

The reason for this wee post was to let all the Hackers know that the winner yesterday was a player who has been getting a bit of a hard time from not just his fellow players but from his family to for being the Santa Spooner.

Alex Smart the current Spoon Boy of the Hackers walked off the course with a fantastic 46 points !!

YES 46 points !!!

This won the sweep by 6 points from Davie Revie another player who has been struggling to find form on the Tour this winter. Maybe this is the White Chimney Boys starting to find form as we enter the second half of this years Tour.

Having played with Alex I witnessed his golf yesterday and it was very good in fact superb in places. If he plays as half as good as that this Sunday then the Spoon will be travelling home with someone else. It's amazing what a dose of the Spoon does for your golf.

If I play as well as I did yesterday then there is a real possibility that it might well be in my house come Sunday evening. I had 6 blobs and only 22 points when I staggered off the course. My excuse was that I had just flown in from the States 2 hours earlier and thought it would be okay to play with no sleep for 2 days. I would have been better going for a long walk without carrying a set of sticks.

Sunday afternoon will reveal the first Spoon winner for 2013.

History shows that the Spoon is normally won at Scotscraig with a very poor score somewhere in the mid teens.
