PHOTOS OF MAR HALL

MAR HALL

On Thursday Gordon, Gerry, Paul and myself ended up at Mar Hall. We were meant to be going to Barrassie but that never happened.

It was a bit wet underfoot in places but playable and very scenic with the Clyde in view the whole way round.

The greens are huge and there is a difference of maybe 2/3 clubs on some of them. The yardages are all to the front which doesn't help. The fairways were in great condition for the time of year.

It's a good course with some very nice holes and long ones, even off the front tees that we played. Only 1 par 5 ( the 1st) and it was 6250 yards off the yellows.

We think you will all enjoy it and it is so easy to get to. Straight down the M8 and it's just past Glasgow Airport at Erskine.

We have booked it for the Hackers and have got the deal for 1 in 8 to go free. Should be about £27.00 each. I wasn't going to bother about food as I have heard it is very expensive and not worth the money. Since we are only 20/25 mins away I thought about just heading back to Lenzie and getting some soup and sandwiches there. The presentation of awards can be carried out there also.

For the record Vera and Geraldo got pumped by myself and Sinky 4-3.

I beat Sinky in a chipping competition on the last as we both had 32 points and decided someone had to win the money. So the money went to me.

Below is some photos to let you all see what it looks like.
