Danny collects this illustrious award
At last getting his hands on the wooden trophy
Danny joins the band of DIDDYS
He only got to the 4th and had to go for a sleep due to the previous night shenanigans.
He actually decided to lie down as his playing partner John Carslaw had taken up mountain climbing looking for his ball up the steep bank to the left. Even tho he found his ball after 10 minutes of rock climbing and abseiling he then took numerous swipes etc to get it back onto the course and the correct fairway.
Danny was starting to lose the will to live - but this was just the start of his problems and down hill went his golf.
He had 9 points at the turn and the writing was on the wall. The Spoon had got it's first victim of the season.
Danny Totten became the first SPOON winner of this years tour and now can sit proudly at this years Christmas dinners SPECIAL top table for all hackers who have won the spoon.
He joins a list of who's who in Golf and he was extremely happy to accept this award.
Danny has flirted very close to getting this prize on a few occasions especially at Dundonald last winter when he sunk a monster putt on the last to avoid it by 1 point.
The tables were reversed this time and for a while Danny was celebrating that he had beat Johnny Sommerville on count back - but only for a while.
The WISHBONE decided to have another look at his card and found that his card maker Tommy Nicholson had marked him down a point which meant he jumped ahead of the Balaclava by a single point.
Wild celebrations erupted from Johnny and as Danny chocked on his ham sandwich he started to look even sicker than he did at 10.00 am this morning when he staggered into the car park from a late night on the tiles.
No recounts allowed , that's no fair .......etc etc.
All were ignored as the presentation had not taken place and Danny became this years popular winner at Crail Links - of the WOODEN SPOON.
