On Sunday we got blown around Whitekirk as the gusts hit 35-40mph in places and the scores below certainly show that very few of us coped with the trying conditions.
Paul's winning score was just 1 shot more than AlexSmarts winning total at Leven in 2009 which still remains the lowest winning points total for winning a Hackers event.
In 2009 Alex managed 31 points in windy wet conditions at Leven and Paul's total of 32 points at the weekend is now the second lowest total. Sunday was probably the worse scoring in a Hackers event as only 4 players managed to get 30+ points and 18 players got 25 points or less.
Ian's Spoon total of 16 is the worse points total this season but is still a bit behind Geraldo's record of 12 points.
Even the Tour leader struggled for the first time this year. Davy crept in with just 19 points and 9 blobs to his name.
The first 3 holes were straight into the teeth of the gale and some of the most difficult of the day. John Byrne had 16 points after 7 holes and then proceeded to get just 8 points for the next 11 holes !!!!
The rounds up to the beginning of December was where most people got their best scores as the calm conditions for the first 4 rounds got most off to a good start. Since Christmas most of the rounds have been tough and I don't think many will have improved their scores by huge amounts.
