ROUND 2
Yesterday saw us hack our way round a very windy Drumoig for our second round of this years Winter Tour.
The best score yesterday was a very impressive 41 points by the current Florida Champion Davy Graham. David is definitely the man on form and at this early stage of the Tour he could be the man to beat this winter.
The main obstacle for Davy could be finding the courses for each round as he was lost in Dundee or somewhere else and just made his tee time with minutes to spare. Maybe he will buy a sat nav with all his winnings.
Davids young son Cameron shot a very good 37 points and he certainly showed most of us up.
In second place was Simon Jessney with a solid 39 points and he also took 3rd place in the Matchplay Championship by beating Ian Baird 7-5 in the play off for 3rd place. So good days work for Simon.
In 3rd place was another player who is showing some nice steady golf and that was Davie Revie. Davie beat Stevie Paul and John Wynn on count back with all 3 of them having 38 points. Davie had a great 23 points on the back 9, John had 22 and Stevie 21 points.
The nearest the pins went to Scott Wylie and Steven Gibson. It is worth pointing out that Gibby put his tee shot to 10 feet and never got his par !!
SPOON BOY WAS JIM CULLEN WINNING IT FOR THE SECOND TIME WITH JUST 18 POINTS.
MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP 2013
In the final John Wynn beat Gordon Sinclair 4-2 to win our first ever Summer Matchplay Competition. Congratulations to John our Matchplay Champion for 2013.
The Matchplay seems to have went okay this year and we can maybe look at continuing it next summer if everyone is happy to do so.
