SOMETHINGS NEVER CHANGE

RESULTS OF THE CULLEN
CHALLENGE.

By missing a putt on the last Jim allowed Geraldo to walk off with the winnings yet again but this time by just 1 point.

Lucky for Jim he won a nearest the pin prize which he then passed onto his brother for payment.

Maybe at Drumoig things will change for Jim ?

THE COURSE IS UP THAT WAY LADDIE !!

The famous periscope at the first
to allow the starter to see if the fairway is clear.

Mr Nine Lives himself our Steven Gibson hit a shot on the first tee that bounced along the path just 10 yards away and ended up sitting in the starters hut.

The starter emerged with the wayward ball in his hand and said " The course is up that way laddie no in here".

He threw the ball over to Nine Lives who then proceeded to smash it miles right over the periscope and with the greatest of ease clear the stone wall in the distance.

"Laddie your OB unless you want to play the wee 9 hole course next to us"

NIL POINTS AFTER 1 hole.

THE MEXICANO IS SAVED BY THE WALL

THE MEXICANO
BLOBS
THE
HOMEWARD
STRETCH

On Sunday Neil had just whacked his ball OB on 17 and eventually got a blob. Maybe that was playing on his mind as he stood over the ball on the 18th tee.
His tee shot on the 18th nearly went off at 90 degrees to where he was aiming. This was a real ugly shank with a driver and if it hadn't been stopped by the wall it would have ended up on the beach.

Unfortunately for The Mexicano it ended up behind a bench outside the Earlsferry Ladies Clubhouse. He took one look at it , uttered a few swear words and just smashed it off the building back into the short stuff.

All the bravado was in vain as he continued to slap it up the right hand side and ended up blobbing the 18th just like he had on the hole before.

Nil points on the last 2 holes for Mr Blobby.

Where is ma ball ?

Right behind a bench and tight against the wall.

Just whack it against the Ladies Clubhouse balcony back out onto the fairway.

On Sunday it was the return of Winston (Hutchy) who has been missing for most of the earlier rounds. His non appearance was mainly down to his boycott of Crail Golf Club. This stance was because he had won a prize at an open competition numerous years ago and they have never forwarded it to him.

So with us going there twice this season it left him sitting at home while we walked the Crail Links.

On Sunday he was hitting his second shot at the 18th and the above picture shows his ball 10 yards from the front door into the club house. He was 50/60 yards off line as he snap hooked it waaaay left and nearly smashed into the sliding glass doors.

I never found out what he got on the last hole but looking at the position the ball is in I think it's safe to assume a par was not on the card.

Welcome back Hutch.

ps

Did you get any tips from your doctor about how to get rid of a snap hook ??

CROW WOOD MAFIA SHOT DOWN

Skippy and the Mexicano

On Sunday it was a good battle between the CrowWood Mafia and the Lenzie Hackers. In the Crow Wood corner was The Mexicano and Show's Ya and for Royal Lenzie it was Skippy and Daffy Dill.

It was a tight match with the Mafia 1 up at the turn and it took a birdie from myself at 10 to stop them going 2 up as Bairdy also managed a birdie. It was nip and tuck with Jim getting a great up and down at 11 to keep it at 1. We were struggling to keep it at that and thanks to Ian 3 putting the 12th we got a half.

At 13 Ian pulled his second shot left and lost his ball. Then Neil had a few flubs trying to chip onto the elevated green. With me on in 2 I had 2 easy putts for the hole. It was now all square.

On 15 with me in for a 4 Ian missed a 8 footer for a half allowing us to go 1 up the first time in the match.  Jim got a great putt for a half on 16th to keep us in front. On the17th both me and Jim were in for 5's and with the Mexicano going OB and Ian in the bunker it was our hole for a 2-1 victory.

Show's Ya looking for his ball at the 13th

The Mexicano finally on the 13th green after duffing a few chips

Looking back up the 13th

It was good tight game with very little between us but when things got tough the Crow Wood boys just crumbled as the game got to the crunch. The Mafia have had a good share of success this season with both Ian and Brian Murphy winning a Tour round so it was time to pull them back a peg or two !!

GOOD GAME GUYS AND GOOD COMPANY.
