RAYMOND DONNELLY
For people who didn't know Raymond, he was a member of Lenzie Golf Club who tragically died in 2007 while abroad. Raymond came with us on our Florida trip in 2006 and the above photo was taken that year. He was a great guy, fantastic company and always went out his way to help others when they needed it. He left behind his wife and very young family.
Danny, his good friend, supplied the trophy and started the competition in 2007 and it is played each year in his memory.
Keep hacking Raymond.
RAYMOND DONNELLY TROPHY
PGA COURSE GLENEAGLES
Friday 30th September
This years event was held at Gleneagles and once again organised by Danny Totten.
The weather was fantastic and felt like a warm June day as we all hit off in our 4 balls. The course was in good condition considering how bad the rain has been in the last few weeks.
It is a tough walk with long distances between the greens and the next hole so many of us took a buggy which at £45 a buggy is really taking the piss.
That is the only problem with Gleneagles as they really go out their way to fleece you as much as possible.
For 2 wee bottles of diet cokes it was £5.60 !! Plastic bottle of iron bru and a kit kat £4.30 !!
It was the only dampener on a great day as the weather was great and the course setting was spectacular as always.

The first game out had a Old Firm look about it with the boys in blue competing against the boys in green and it was a comfortable win for Scott and Jim as Rotten Totten was indeed rotten with 24 points and his partner Vera hit it like a women (according to Scott).
With just a few holes to go they were at one stage 5 down before trying to make it semi respectable at 3-2.
Danny has been inflicting quite a few heavy defeats on others and Scott was very clear that he wanted the 3-2 defeat to be mentioned in this report.
I don't have all the scores for the day but some I do have include the following
Stevie 24 Jamie 20 Craig 30 Gordon 28 Kenny 30 Jim C 25 Brian 11
I myself had the worst round I have ever had in a stableford comp with only 17 points. I had 7 blobs but thanks to my partner Bilbo we still managed to beat Rocky and Bin Laden 2-1.
Other wins were - Chris and Brian got a half match against Stevie and Jamie which is hard to believe when Brian only managed 11 points ( 8 in the front and 3 in the back) so that shows just how poor Ma Card and Mad Dog were.
Craig and Ian lost 2 down to Gordon and John Wynn. Craig had a game of 2 half's with 19 points at the turn and only 11 on the back 9.
Special thanks to John for turning up at such short notice and getting the numbers up to 16.
Also thanks to Danny and Scott for organising the event and helping out with the vouchers etc.
Great Day Guys !!
